Bobsleigh

My first season allowed me to gain an insight into the sport and how it was run, competing on the Europa Cup circuit. I gain lots of experience and trained ALOT around new team mates and some of the best coaches around. At the end of my first season I was selected to race in the 2013 World Championships, held in St Moritz.
Following from this rapid raise through the sport and becoming more and more addicted to it. I made a decision to train full time in the summer of 2013.
This was a tough decision as I was required to make some decision about work and living arrangements.
The decision paid off and at the end of a long and tough 2013/2014 season I ended up at the Winter Olympics in Sochi with the Great Britain team.

IMG_38071As I made progress with the sport, I began to coach myself at the age of 15. I was able to learn basic skills and movements which gave me the understanding to improve and I was selected for the Kent squad to compete at the English Schools athletics competition. At this competition I surprised everyone, including myself, by finishing 3rd. This was my first major achievement within the sport and motivated me to go on to see how far I can throw.

I maintained my training and commitment to the sport and through university. UWIC, Cardiff Metropolitan  university, where I competed in 3 British university championships. Highest placing was 3rd in 2008 which got me selected to compete for GB students in an international competition.  In 2008 I was ranked 18th in the UK and 5th in U23 age group.  My Personal Best, PB, in discus is 56.50m which I threw in 2011. This placed me in the top 200 in the world at the time.
